5-day Grantwriting Intensive Class in Anchorage, Alaska

Cost: $999 + $89 UAA credit fee (mandatory). UAA fee due the first day of class.
The Funding Exchange’s 5-day Intensive grantwriting training is an excellent choice for new or inexperienced grant writers, or for grant writers who want to develop a cadre of grantwriting colleagues and are interested in new and better ways to do their work.
As they work their way through the class, students use their grantmaker's requirements to guide their proposal writing. Students practice searching for funding sources on the Internet; sort funding opportunities according to their suitability to the organization’s mission and goals; and complete a funding proposal from the foundation of their choice. Each student works on their own proposal and learns to edit others' proposals. Students leave the workshop with a completed proposal to be submitted directly to the funder and/or dissected into templates for future proposals and can implement a development plan for their organization and begin writing proposals immediately. There will be homework in the evenings, so come prepared to work!
Students benefit from learning about a variety of proposals, and because of the small class size (maximum 12 students), they have the opportunity to develop a network of peers who often continue to support one another in their grantwriting efforts after the end of the class. Funding Exchange provides long-term mentoring to our students after the end of class, so you'll have support as you gain experience.
As part of the class, each student will receive a copy of The Funding Exchange’s grantwriting handbook, The Art of Grantwriting – Communicating Your Vision to Funders as well as a free four-day membership to Grantstation.com. Review the topics covered in class here.
